Gulf Investors seek to bridge financial divides in Europe

Gulf and Global investors will hear investment proposals in London 10-11 November 2008

Unique London conference open to media: On 10-11 November, the “The Global Investors Window 2008,” an unusual conference at which leading members of the Gulf investment community will hear numerous presentations for investment from entrepreneurs and government officials from around the globe.

Rare opportunity to interview many global economic leaders in one location: This important conference is an opportunity for the media to interview many major Gulf investors, Islamic economic experts and business leaders from Europe, US and the FSU. You can get first-hand information on important new projects and insight into how the Islamic financial community funds and guides such projects.

New Islamic investment funds and investment bank to be announced:  Recent events in US, France, UK and Spain have underscored the need for economic cooperation between Islamic communities and the rest of the world. At the conference, Gulf investors and banks will announce a set of new Islamic investment funds and the creation of a new Islamic investment bank to be based in Europe.  These announcements will represent concrete steps to meet the growing need for Islamic banking services and intercultural economic cooperation worldwide.

Get insights on how financial divides are being bridged: Many countries of Europe have emerged from long periods of economic suppression in the last decade.  These countries are now poised for steady, if not explosive growth.  This conference will show how Islamic financial institutions will help these countries reach their economic potential by providing financial services consistent with Islamic law (Shariah), which does not permit the receipt of interest (known as “riba” in Islam) by investors.

Many forms of economic cooperation to be explored:  The conference will focus on specific, current opportunities for (1) direct investments, (2)  joint-ventures, and (3) transfers of know-how.  Sectors to be covered include (1) Real Estate (2) Manufacturing and Energy (3) Services and Consultancy, (4) Transportation & Infrastructure.

Many VIPs who are scheduled to attend.
